Citing Database Sources


One of the great features of most of the library databases is that they will format your citations for you. There are a few ways to get a citation from the EBSCO databases like CINAHL.

You should always double-check citations you generate from the database. Make sure all the information in the citation matches your source, and that the citation is formatted and punctuated correctly.

When you click on an article title from your results list, you will see a Tools menu on the right hand side of your screen.

 

If you print or email from here, you'll have the option to include a citation. Change the bubble from 'Standard Field Format' to 'Citation Format', and select your citation style from the list:



You can also select 'Cite' from the Tools menu, and a window will pop up with the citation for the article in several different formats. Scroll down to the format you're using, and copy and paste into a Word document:
