WEPA - Printing Documents on Campus

The purpose of this research guide is to show the steps required for printing a document or other file on a San Jacinto College campus.

How much does it cost to print?

One-sided Black & White (BW)

     11 cents per copy

One-sided Color

     51 cents per copy

Two-sided (Front & Back) Black & White (BW)

20 cents for two sides (user saves 2 cents by printing front & back)

Two-sided (Front & Back) Color

$1.00 for two sides (user saves 2 cents by printing front & back)

Option #1: To Pay with a WEPA Card

1.  Since WEPA print stations do not accept cash, one option is to pay for copies with a WEPA Card.

A WEPA card works like a debit card in the sense that the balance decreases each time it is used.  A card costs $5 (cash only).  Once the balance reaches $0, funds cannot be added to the card--a new card must be purchased.  Self-service WEPA card machines can be found at these four locations* :

Central Campus

     Library (Building 21) -- 1st floor

Generation Park

No card machine available; cards can be purchased at the Business Office (G2.101A)

Maritime Campus

No card machine available; nearest machine at Central campus library (Building 21)

North Campus

Library (Building 14) -- 1st floor, Student Success Center

South Campus

     Library (Building 10) -- 1st floor

*In the event that a WEPA card machine is out of order, the campus post office also sells cards (cash only) to students.

Options #2 & #3: To Pay with Credit or Debit

2.  Pay Directly from Credit or Debit Card

When prompted, the user must enter credit or debit card information at the kiosk.  Please note:  for each transaction, a fee of 40 cents is added to the cost of copies.  For example, the total cost of printing two separate black and white pages by this method would be 62 cents:

2 copies x 11 cents/copy = 22 cents + 40 cent transaction fee = 62 cents

3.  Pay through WEPA Account

Many students do not realize they have a free WEPA account, into which they can transfer funds.  When following the payment steps on the WEPA station screen, the user might be prompted to do one of the following: to either proceed with the current transaction (thereby paying the 40 cent fee on top of the cost of printing), or to transfer funds into his/her WEPA account.

Users can transfer funds from a debit or credit card in the following amounts:  $5, $10, $25, $50, or $100.  Through this method, a transaction fee will NOT be added when printing.  Each time a document is paid for through the WEPA account, the cost will be subtracted from the WEPA account balance.  A student can see his/her WEPA account balance by swiping (or inserting) a current student ID card at any WEPA print station.
