Step 2: Setting Up Your Search

Let's say that you want to search for books and articles related to hurricanes.  To do so, (1) leave the drop-down menu at Keyword, (2) type the word hurricanes into the search box, and (3) click Search to find results:

In the example below, you would type the words hurricanes and texas in order to find all materials involving hurricanes and the state of Texas.  Click Search to find results:

Another way to search is by entering a phrase.  To find all materials about hurricanes that involve the state of Texas, you might enter the phrase "texas hurricanes" into the search box. This strategy enables the Super Search to locate the exact phrase "texas hurricanes" throughout all bibliographic records.  Click Search for results:

To search for a specific book or article title, you would first select Title in the drop-down menu and then enter all (or even part) of a title into the search box.  Click Search to see results:

To search by author, you would select Author and then enter the author's (or editor's) name into the search box.  Note:  Both the first name and last name are preferable, but the last name alone is often sufficient.  Click Search to see results:
