Step 2: Setting Up Your Search

Before typing search terms into the boxes:

  1. Find the Limit your results section in the middle of the search page. 
  2. The Full Text should be checked already.  This will ensure that all articles retrieved will be full-text articles.   
  3. Check the box below Peer Reviewed if your professor requires scholarly articles.  
  4. Enter the appropriate years below Publication Date

Click on the Keyword & Author Search tab above to see how you might set up a search.

If you wanted to find all materials--books, articles, or ebooks--about hurricanes in Texas that were written by the author Philip B. Bedient, follow these steps (see image below):

  • Enter the word hurricanes into the first box; 
  • Enter the word texas into the second box; 
  • Enter bedient, the author's last name, into the third box. 
  • Click Search.
