Open Educational Resources: Open Book Definitions

Three Definitions of "Open Books" at San Jacinto College

Open Books - this term means that students will have no textbook costs, as these courses use only free, online, open educational resources.

Open Books Low $ - this term means that materials for these courses are part of the affordable learning initiative at SJC and are available for $50 or less.

Open Books Plus - means that the cost of digital learning materials is included as an additional course charge on a student's tuition statement.

Searching for Open Book Courses

1.  To find courses that use open books, type the term "open books" into the Search Terms box and then click the Filter button.


2.  In the list of results, click on a course to see the type of open book to be used.
