QEP - Thinking and Beyond

Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)

The purpose of the QEP is to enhance the development of critical thinking skills in students. The critical thinking topic presumes that the College’s students live and work in an environment characterized by change and driven by ideas. The Steering Committee developed specific and well-defined objectives by drafting the following student learning outcomes (SLOs) for the QEP:

  • SLO 1: Explain an issue/problem;
  • SLO 2: Evaluate the quality and source of evidence;
  • SLO 3: Evaluate their own and others’ contexts and assumptions;
  • SLO 4: Acknowledge the perspectives and complexities of an issue/problem; and
  • SLO 5: Develop clear, consistent, and logical conclusions that consider possible implications.
